Each beautiful bug is handcrafted in porcelain and hand painted.  They go through multiple firings to attain the beautiful metallic lustre.
 
Trixie's thorax and abdomen are a black/dark brown with an oil slick lustre.  Her wings and antennae are made of porcelain.
